Fixing the damage

Have you ever seen someone so happy to be on their hands and knees?!?

Well yesterday gave us a scare when Home Depot informed us they no longer carry the flooring we installed. Although they said they were showing nine boxes in their inventory, they couldn't find it. Thanks Salinas Home Depot. They checked other stores and said... no stores in the area had it.
But I never settle for no.
I called them today and at first I was getting the same story. Then they transfer me to the pro desk. Come to find out, the inventory system was showing four boxes in the Gilroy store. So after getting a visual confirmation that Gilroy actually knew where their boxes were, I went up to Gilroy and now Robert is installing the replacement boards.
It's starting to be quite a mess though as he has to remove more to get to the replacement area because of the type of flooring this is. Happy Memorial Day to us!

Water Cooler Disaster

It doesn't look so bad on the surface... the wood is just starting to buckle.

The damage... All the wet pieces need to be replaced. We'll be at Home Depot today. This was not how we wanted to be spending our Memorial Day Weekend. Let's hope I don't go into labor today. Or maybe if I do, it will all be fixed by the time I get home!

We officially decided to cancel our delivery and get a Brita Water Pitcher.

Bathroom Trim

So I think we started this bathroom
about a year ago... to get it in
working order for Joseph's first
birthday party. He will be two at
the end of this month and look -
TRIM! The door is getting painted
as well.

Side Yard

Our neighbor was working on the fence between our houses and knocked down a bunch of weeds in this section for us. It's pretty yucky back here. The gate at the front doesn't open up to the front yard but we discovered that this small fence will open and close to create some type of dog run or pin for keeping in some animal. It wouldn't have kept Pepper in, but we're guessing that's what it was for. Maybe one of these days I will have an "after" photo to post of this area. Wouldn't that be nice? I don't even know where to start with the yardwork!!!

Finished Trim

So this is the exciting day a week ago Robert painted the trim and the rest of us did a little yardwork.

And these are the three completed windows - all new windows with their painted trim. Finally. Now I just need to get the rest of the house painted and say good-bye to that awful green trim. Plan on another "after" photo with all the bushes removed and something new in the planter. Not sure when that day is coming but it's coming! Maybe 2009??

Yard Work, etc.

My digital cameras died last week so no photos to report; however, the bathroom we started a year ago is finally getting some attention again. Robert painted the ceiling yesterday and will hopefully touch up the wall paint and finish the trim work sometime this week. I will cross my fingers but not hold my breath.

Today I did a small amount of yard work whacking some weeds that have grown over and trimming down a bush in the backyard. While the yard needs a major makeover, I know that's not happening anytime soon so a little maintainence will have to do in the meantime.

Can't wait to get my new camera so I can take some photos of how things are looking around here.

Window Trim
